If 'Star Wars' Was On Facebook

Thought this was pretty funny

It would look like this...

I admit, I love it sometimes when people make parodies of fictional characters, if it is done right, it can be really funny. This is no different. Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Luke Skywalker was on facebook? If he and the rest of ' Star Wars ' were, this is probably what it would look like. I admit, CollegeHumor does some pretty tasteless stuff sometimes, but this was great.  Which is your favorite?

While you may not be able to befriend Luke or Chewie on Facebook , you can be friends with Comic Vine ...

Christmas Eve

Christmas has always been one of my favorites holidays. I remember
waking up Christmas morning and wondering what Santa brought. I hope
that my kids get the same way. I enjoy watching them open up gifts
and relaxing.

I thought that after finishing up school I would have more time.
However that does not seem to be the case. Something is always going
on...fixing a computer, running out shopping, or working off hours.
My things to do around the house are increasing and I need at least
two days to hammer out some of the things that have been naggy me.

The new year is right around the corner. I think I know what my New
Years resolution is going to be. Last years, was running and I think
I did a good job. Ran 5 races (all 5ks). I would like to run at
least one 10k in 2010. I am debating the a half marathon or even a
marathon. I have not committed 100% to that venture but I am sure to
keep you posted.

CISSP is tough!

This boot camp is pretty intense! There is so much to learn and not sure I will be able to absorb it all. Trying to grind it out! The hotel I am staying at is pretty vanilla but I can't anything about that. Anyway, I miss my family and look forward to seeing them soon.

Tiger Woods Today: I Have Let My Family Down and I Regret Those Transgressions

I wonder what this means? Very interesting...

ET has the latest...

As rumors of infidelities surround him, Tiger Woods makes a new statement on his Web site today saying, "I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart."

He goes on to say:

"I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Another Weekend

I had a great Thanksgiving! I probably ate too much but what can you
do? It is the holidays. Had a relaxing four days off and now ready
to get back to work. I leave for boot camp (CISSP) on 12/5 I will
need to be studying at night before I go. I need to pass this exam.

Wild Weekend

I did run in the Pig Skin classic on Saturday. I was doing great! I had some pains in my left foot but continued on. In that last stretch I kicked it in to high gear and felt something POP! I think I tore my plantar fascia. I did go to the ER and they took xrays (no hairline fractures). Gave me some pain meds and thats it. Icing it down regularly. Oh and I got crutches. Not really what I wanted this weekend but I suppose I will have to deal with it...

Its Friday

Today is Friday and another weekend is upon us. I ran today for the
first time in 3 days. I just had to take a break. Felt great getting
back on the treadmill. I am seriously debating about running in the
half marathon in May. I am not conviced yet that I can do it.
Actually, I have not 100% committed myself to the task yet is a better
way to put it. I know I will have the support of my family but I am
not sure I want to run that many miles at one time.

Work is going great! I really enjoy the work that I do. Everyday
presents a new challenge which makes for a fast week.

The Empire strikes back (Yahoo! Sports)

Wow! What a series! The long baseball season has come to a close. They Yankees started out slow but picked it up in May and won the World Series. I can say that I am thrilled for them. There are many players that deserve this win. I am proud to be a Yankees Fan!

Almost There

Well I have about 3 weeks left before I am done with my MBA.  On 10/29 I took a final exam for a class.  I hope I did OK.  I am also training for the upcoming Pig Skin Classic on 11/21 (5k race).  I hope to do half way decent in that.  Not much else has been going on.  I really enjoy my job.  The people are great and the work is challenging.  Each day I learn new things!

4 Weeks to go

I only have 4 weeks left until I am done with my MBA. It can not come
soon enough. I have a final on 10/29 then down to one class. I know
I will need the time because the group project is huge. I will also
need to start studying for the CISSP exam. I will be travelling to Va
in December for a boot camp then the exam on 12/12. Although the MBA
will be completed, I will still be very busy with work and learning
new skills.

I will be brewing up a great porter on 10/30 and I cant wait!

Another 5k

I finished another 5k today. Not my best time at 27 minutes but was great non the less. Was my first race that I listened to tunes. I have to say the music helped out a lot. Resting on Saturday with the fam. I won't run again till Monday. I wonder where I'll find time to run in the last 7 weeks of school. I can't wait to be done!

10/4

Happy Anniversary!  Today is my 12 year wedding anniversary.  It sure does not seem that long.  We sure had a very busy weekend.  Stayed at a hotel over night and went to some great Cleveland pubs.  I am very tired because I was up till about 3am eating pizza (I can believe that I was still hungry).  Anyway, getting mentally ready for another week of work and school, have only 8 weeks to go!

Wednesday Morning

It has been a few days since my last post. Not much has changed. I
really enjoy my new job and I am still very busy with school. I think
I have 9 class days left before I am finally done. These last classes
seem to be tougher than any other class that I have taken. I press
on!

I am trying for another 5k on 10/10/09. Our treadmill sorta broke
down. I am working on getting that fixed, meanwhile I am forced to
run outside. Running outside is not bad but we are approaching the
fall season and tends to be very cold in the morning so I have to
bundle up a bit. I actaully think its good practice for races in the
fall.

Till the next time.

Sunday Evening

I got back from our nation’s capital.  All done with my training and ready to hit the ground running.  I am very happy to be back home where I can see my family.  I missed them a great deal!  I also missed two classes of school so I am currently trying to make that up and reading furiously.  I have an exam on Tuesday and wondering what it is really over (was not in class).  I had to go to a funeral on Saturday, a good friend’s mother had passed away.  Very sad to see any loved one go.  I look forward to going back to work.  I really can’t wait for school to be over with.

What a weekend so far! Had a relaxing Friday and I am currently camping with my family. Brought the pie irons and made some sweet sandwiches. Kids are asleep and hanging out at the fire. Wondering what we are going to have for breakfast. Perhaps I'll get the pie irons out and make some eggs and sausage. I am tired but its worth it!

Until the next time!

9/11

It has been 8 years since the attacks on the US have occurred. Seems as though not much has changed really. Yes we pay tribute to those that lost their lives but we still have a problem paying tribute to those that are living. We still have no idea how fragile life can be. I can give you lots of examples of how people mistreat other people. Why can we not learn from the past? Driving in to work this morning I noticed people unwilling to 'let me in' or to yield. Why does it take a terrorist attack for people to be nice for a few days? Why is everyone so nice to each other around Christmas time? Why can't we always be nice to people? I know I am not perfect but I do try to be the best person I can be. Although sometimes difficult, I try to promote peace and equality.

I am looking forward to this weekend. It will be the fist time we are all going camping. Should be very interesting. I will sure keep you posted on the event. I will be leaving for our nation's capital on Monday for a week of training. I am looking forward to that.

Till the next time, give peace a chance! (John Lennon)

Labor Day Weekend

Has been a great weekend so far!  Went to the Indians game with my son (his first game) along with my dad and my father-in-law.  Indians did win the game and watched the fireworks after.  I think my son had a great time!

I am going to be running a 5k on Monday.  I hope I am able to finish with a decent time.  I have been working hard.  I wish I had more time to devote to my running.  School has already become a huge task.  Reading, reading, and more reading, that is what my classes are about.  I keep thinking that there is only three months left.  That is what keeps me going.

Tuesday

Been a few days since my last post. School has sure made my days busy. Glad ots the home stretch. I continue to train for my next 5k. I am trying to beat my last time of 24:44. That may be tough but I'm going to try. My new job is going awesome! I really enjoy the work and the people. Along with my school work, I am trying to study for my CISSP (should be interesting). So we'll see how the next few months go...

Wednesday

Started my last semester of school this past Tuesday August 25th.  I can’t believe this will be my last semester of this MBA journey.  Seems like just last week I started.  Anyway…my new gig is going awesome!  I am learning a ton and look forward to the new technologies.  I am training for yet another 5k run set for September 7th.  My runs have not been as well as I’d like them to be but I push through.  I seem to like running 5ks, I really didn’t think that I would.  The nerves in the beginning are something to get used to but after the gun, I try to find my stride and do my best.  I will post again soon.

Post Run Feelings

I did finish the 5K Corn Run this morning. I think I had a really good time of 24:44, beating my last time by over two minutes. Was a great day! My family was there to watch me cross the finish line. My mom and dad came to see me as well. I was surprised to see them. After the race we all went to Bob Evans for some schweet grub. I was so hungry! So of course I ate a lot.

In other news, I did get a new job. I will be starting on August 17th. I am pretty excited. This will give me the opportunity to focus on Security. I am sure I will be posting the progress of that in the near future.

It's Friday

Another Friday is upon us. I am looking forward to getting out of
work so that I can enjoy my weekend. I will be running another 5k on
Saturday 8/8/09 (North Ridgeville Corn Run). I am not nervous at the
time of this writing but I know I will become nervous closer to race
time. I just hope that I can finish with a decent time without
injury. This will be the first race with some role reversal. My
wonderful wife and family will be there to cheer me on. It is usually
me and the kids cheering her on. So that should be interesting. It
is supposed to be around 82 degrees and very humid (typical August) so
I am not sure how I will perform in that condition. I do know that I
will do my best.

I have two more classes left in this summer semester. The end can not
come soon enough. Again I have to say thank you to my beautiful wife
for all the support she has given me over the course of this MBA. I
am not sure how to thank her. I look forward to the days when I do
not have homework or projects so I can come home from work and spend
evenings with my family.

Vacation Day

So I took a vacation day today because I had so much I had to get
done. Woke up about 8am...had breakfast with my wife and kids and
watched some sports center. I had to get a hair cut today so I took
my son with me and talked him into getting one as well (he is 4 1/2).
He did a great job sitting there calmly in the chair while he got his
1st hair cut from a barber. I usually cut his hair. After that we
dropped off my dry cleaning. When my beautiful wife got home I went
for a run (5K) showered quickly and then we went to lunch. Was a
great day. I love spending time with my family.

I racked my 1st wine this evening. Tasted pretty darn good then I
bottled up 10 gallons of my Rauchbier. I tasted it and really was not
a huge fan but I'll judge when its ready to drink.

Wednesday

Woke up at my usual 5:50 am and had to hit the snooze for 5 minutes
but eventually woke up and ran my 3 miles. Was pretty tough getting
up but realized that extra half hour of broken sleep would not have
done me any good. These 6-10pm classes are seriously hurting my
sleep. Thankfully this summer session is only 6 weeks and I am half
way there. I am looking forward to finishing up my schooling in
November. I really miss my wife and kids. I am not able to spend a
lot of time with them during the week.

I did however sneak a card in my wifes drawer telling her how much I
love her along with two Dave Matthews tickets. (pavillion) Concert
set for 7/29. She was very excited and thankful. I am thankful that
I am able to do those sort of things for her. I know she works just
as hard during the week as I do (maybe harder). I just wanted her to
know that her hard work is greatly appreciated.

I will be attempting to make my first batch of wine this weekend. I
am pretty excited. It will not take as long as beer but none the
less, I hope that it will be good in about 6 months.

Thursday

Well its almost Friday! I am looking forward to the weekend. The
weekend means hanging out with my kids and NO WORK! School has been
pretty difficult. I actually had to drop a class. I have never done
that before, it was a Online Finance class. I really didnt grab the
concept of learning online. There was too much to keep up with,
posts, homework, and excel. I just couldn't keep up, I learn better
by listening in class and raising my hand to ask a question. I dont
think I'll be taking anymore online classes.....

Anyway, I have continued my training for my next 5k which is set for
August 8th. I'm sure I'll be super nervous for that race but I know
I'll get through it. I have a lot on my mind right now and have a
hard time putting my thoughts in to words. I'll have to collect my
thoughts and get back...

7/9/09

I started classes this weekend....WOW! This is going to be a lot of
work over the next 6 weeks. Two finance classes! Lots and lots of
fun reading with calculations I have not performed in a decade. I
have to get all my homework done before Friday, so I can relax. I
know its all important and I hope it will pay of for me.

Looking forward to the weekend. Going to be camping again in the back
yard with my son and two nephews. We'll have a nice fire with
marshmallows. I will be using my new pie irons as well.... I so can't
wait for that. I might just challenge myself and have both my kids
sleep in the tent along with my two nephews! Won't that be a real
treat.

I am surprised that I have kept up on my running. I have been going
about 3.5 miles four times a week. I have another race coming up on
8/8. Well its not realy a race for me, more of a 'run'

7/2/09

Its a 3-day weekend...very well deserved. On 7/3 I will be brewing 10 gallons of German beer. Having a few friends come over and brewin up some good beer. I have continued my 'training' for my next 5k. Running just about everyday and pushing myself. Ran 3.5 miles this evening and felt pretty darn good. My next 5k is going to be 8/5. I think this time I will not be as nervous this time and will take place in the morning. I sorta can't wait!

However...its the weekend now and I have been really looking forward to the time off. Spending time with friends and family over the Independence day weekend is always a good time!

June 27th 2009

Today is my birthday! 36 years old. i like to think of myself as
being older and wiser but I really have no way to judge that.
However, I did have a great birthday weekend. Went out with some
family and friends (thanks KG JD) on Friday night and spent the day
with my family on Saturday. Had a great meal..fillet Mignon,
asparagus, and potatoes, ate outside because it was a beautiful day!
Got some really cool gifts also, pie iron, a cd, and sweet t-shirt. I
really don't feel '36' or 'old' at this point in my life. I had a
great day!

6/25/09

Today was an interesting day! i was too tired to wake up and run so I
loaded up on coffee when I got to work. After reading some news I
finally got rolling with work. Later that afternoon I read that Farah
Fawcett had passed away. She was some fancy actress that passed away
from cancer. Had a great meal with my family and watched a huge storm
on the porch. Power went out a few times and found out that Michael
Jackson had passed away at age 50! That was a shocker! He had some
great music in the early 80's and then he sorta went strange. Finally
got run today... 3 miles and then had to do some work. Relaxing now a
bit watching some news. I hope to get some rest this evening.

I Finished!!

Wow what a tough week! Race day finally came and I was pretty nervous. Got down to west 25th area with about 1.5 hours to kill. The nerves were getting to me. I finished 26.34ish I think and I feel great!

Tick Tock Tick Tock....Race day is approaching!

Well its Thursday afternoon...I am somewhat looking forward to this
weekend's run. I have been training for some time now. I hope that I
am up to the challenge. I am sitting here at work wondering what my
time will be. I hope I at least finish and not end up with a torn acl
or broken ankle. I have another two weeks before I start back school.
I will be taking 2 Finance classes (6 weeks). Should be super
gruelling. I try not to think about that yet. I am really looking
forward to July 3rd. I have the day off and having some people over
for a big brew day! I will be brewing another 10 gallons and
featuring my latest IPA.

Lastly, I finally made the transition to a Linux workstation. I have
tinkered with Linux since Fedora 5 but finally traded in my Windows
for Fedora 11. I can do the exact same stuff with even more bells and
whistles, not to mention added security. I am pretty excited about
that. I just hope I don't go back to school and they require some odd
ball application to run on Windows.

Sunday Morning...First Run Outside

Sunday morning was the first time I ran outside in a really long time.
I was pretty nervous. I guess I get self consise about how I look
while running in the streets of my city. Anyway, with the support of
my wife, she started the clock and I was off. 27 minutes later I
finished my 2.8 miles. I was pretty happy with that result. I have
been working pretty hard and look forward to my race on 6/20/09. I am
hoping that I can further improve on that time and make a decent
showing.

First 5k Run

So I decided to finally do it! After much consideration and putting
it off, I have decided to participate in my first 5k run
http://www.ohiocity.com/index.cgi?id=131&l=2&p=5700 I suppose I should
be pretty excited but I think I am more nervous that anything else. I
was running pretty well in the beginning of the year, about 4 miles in
40 minutes. I sorta reached a peak and have relaxed a bit. I am now
back up to about 2.5 miles with just over a week till race time. I
know I can do it...even if I walk the entire race.

I'll be posting news before and after the race if I dont pass out.

What? Another Post?

Two posts in one day? How does that happen? Currently on a month
break from school. Starting back July 6th. I need the break. Only 3
more classes to go.

Been a really long time

I have been super busy the last few months. Trying to finish school and my kids are growing up so fast. I wanted to touch base. I hope to be doing this more often.
